This will get you excellent results. The more you "perform", the better your performance will be.  Practice, practice, practice. Hesitant to start conversations and talk to people about your business? Begin by just TALKING to people first about general things - the weather, what's for dinner, where they are from, how their summer is going, etc. This will get you in the habit of asking powerful questions, too!

You only get better by DOING! You've got to be bad before you can be good, and good before you can be GREAT!

Develop that script we talked about earlier and practice it. Practice in the mirror, practice to your family, practice to anyone who will listen. Record yourself and improve.

Performing at your best really involves getting your thinking and your attitude right first. When you have internal confidence, it shows up everywhere else.

Have your game face on each and every day. What does it mean to have your game face on?

Have your attitude together about your business and your products. What knowledge and belief do you possess? What will you say when people ask you what you do? What are you going to say when people ask you what makes a soy candle different?

The best thing is at the end of the day when you know you gave it your best! That will inspire you to repeat the process the next day!

EXPECT Success!

An important success secret in MLM is your ability to play detective and discover important information and clues about your prospects, customers and those on your team. The more you know about them the more you an meet their needs head on and let's face it, that's the name of the game. Take a course on listening, practice developing these skills on your family and watch that part of your life improve. People are craving to be heard and if you are the one who hears them, you will walk away with the sale, the sign up and the success.

When you are talking to someone about this business, avoid the tendency to say too much. Ask questions that will provoke them to reveal to you why they may want to do this business.

Ask permission to share some details about what you do. This puts them in a mindset to listen. Now it is THEIR idea and not just YOUR idea.

Here are some questions to ask -

How long have you been looking for a home business?

What happened (timeago)  that caused you to begin your search?

(This is a VERY important question because their answer will reveal their "why" to you so listen carefully!!!)

What do you do now?

Do you like it?

What are you looking for specifically?

What other businesses have you looked at?

Have you ever owned your own business or worked from home before?

How much time will you devote to your business?

How much of a financial investment are you willing to make into a business, if you were convinced it was the right one?

(Make a connection and determine what their "why" is.)

Would you like to know more about what I have to offer?

Okay, that's great. Do you have a pen to jot down some details?

Use as many tools as possible.

Listen, learn, fill a need and sponsor!

Develop your communication skills. Notice I said develop? Most people feel slightly awkward when beginning to speak with others about their product and MLM Business Opportunity.

Good verbiage and confidence in speaking about your product and your business can be developed. How do I know? I did it! I am not a communications major or expert on speaking and yet today, I can speak confidently with ANYONE about business. This took nothing but practice and repetition. You do not have to be an expert on your product, your pay plan or how MLM works. But, if you can speak skillfully and confidently, and find the answers, you are destined for greatness.

First, start with your own hot button about our products and business. Why did you get involved? Develop your "script" or "60 second elevator speech" around this. Forget facts, figures, and statistics. Instead, share stories .

Get on every conference call you can until you can talk about this business in your sleep. Ingrain our company story in your brain.

This will help you communicate effectively about what we do and what we have to offer.

Most importantly, develop your ability to listen - to TRULY listen, without regard to your own personal agenda.

Remember, when you are speaking with a prospect, it has nothing to do with you and everything to do with the person to whom you are speaking.

Listen, hear, respond.

Have you ever tensed up at the thought of "selling something?" Most of us are not natural born sales people and so we feel a little uneasy about the whole idea of "selling."

Most any business you are in, and actually, life in general is all about selling. You are always "selling" something.

Network Marketing is a business of sharing stories, presenting products and, yes, selling those products, along with the opportunity when the timing is right.

I know, I know, I said the dreaded words..."selling those products."

However, of course we sell our products! Or, in a good opportunity, you should be selling your products. That's what builds a long term, solid business and income.

So, why are we afraid of the term "Selling?"

I believe it's because many of us have a distorted picture in our minds of exactly what "selling" means.

Think about it yourself.

When you think of selling, what image do you conjure up in your mind?

Do you see the stereotypical "used car salesman" pinning you in a corner, salivating over you and the prospect of "closing you on the deal," getting you signed on the dotted line and gloating over your hard earned cash in his pocket as you drive off in a lemon?

Do you see the over enthusiastic furniture sales woman, following you from setting to setting in the store, commenting to no one in particular about "how cute this is," etc?

I believe that's a big problem today when we talk to people about our business. How often do you hear the words "I don't want to have to sell anyone?"

Translate that into - "I don't want to be pushy and obnoxious with my family and friends."

Who does?

I sure don't, but I do know that I have a product that I believe in wholeheartedly and I am proud to alert those I care about know about my products and business. What they do beyond that is not about me.

My job and obligation to my business lis all about treating it like a business and getting the word out about what I do.

So, how do I do that without feeling like the wicked car salesman?

A few simple rules make this a very easy, relaxed and fun process.

First, I develop a script or "elevator speech" for presenting my products. I do this by spending some time reflecting on just what it was that appealed to me about my products in the beginning. In other words, I tell my story. Simple as that.

I leave out all hype, industry slang, company names, or anything that really does not matter one bit to the person with whom I am speaking.

I tell my story and my hot button just like I would share a story about a great movie I watched recently, or a wonderful restaurant where I dined. I pretend there is no monetary compensation for sharing my story.

At the end of sharing that story, a simple question such as "do you know anyone who might be interested in hearing about a product like this" will go a long way in taking you out of seller mode and putting you into the mode of advisor, professional and even expert.

Think about it. Doesn't just picturing yourself in this role make you feel a whole lot better than the used car salesman approach?

Second thing to remember, detach from the outcome of your conversation. Do not have any pre-conceived ideas of what you expect to take place after the conversation. Don't anticipate making a sale, sponsoring a business partner or even getting a referral.

If you do, that's great! And the confidence boost will make you better and better.

But, if you don't get a sale, or anything else, that's okay. You are looking for people for whom your product or opportunity is the right thing right now. You have fulfilled your ?contract with yourself" by making sure everyone who you come into contact is aware of what you do.

Remember, if you opened a burger joint, your vegetarian friends might come for a soda, but likely won't be looking for the beef! And, maybe not even the soda. And, that's okay, right? It doesn't mean they are any less hopeful for your success. It's just not right for them.

So, don't get caught up in expectations or take it personally if someone says no. It's not about you and certainly not anything to take personally.

 EXPECT Success!

Habit 2 - Define your why, write it down and read it often!

Ingrain that so deeply into your soul that nothing and no one can take you off of your path. Create a "dream book" or "treasure map" that details what you want to have, do and be, in your business. Look at it DAILY!

Superimpose those thoughts, dreams and pictures firmly in your mind. Stuck in traffic, the doctor's office, jury duty -n whip out that book, or close your eyes and go through it. POWERFUL.

I still add pictures and goals to my dream book. I especially do this every year at the beginning of the year, but I also add to it all year. It's fun for me to look back over the things I've placed in there in the past and see how many things have come to pass. My car, my house, my treadmill, my boat, my beach house, even the bathtub in the master bathroom are all in my dream books, from days gone by. Today, they are also in my reality, which is even better.

Some people will disregard this concept as silly or frivolous. I say don't miss it. I once met a CEO from a Fortune 500 company who talked about his dream book, It sure worked for him.

I like to start with the habits I feel are MOST important in your journey. A lot of people like to start with the "how tos" but I feel these are secondary. When you know why, you are much more empowered to take inspired action. Inspired action is the action that springs forth from within, and not those action steps you take because you feel you must.

Success in anything, and certainly in our industry, boils down to your willingness to develop some consistent, quality habits.

Good habits are what separate the master's from the hobbyists.

So, which are you? Which do you want to be?

What are your driving goals with your own business? What's your reason why?

Are you looking for a few hundred dollars a month, to subsidize your income and make things a little easier?

Are you looking to get out of a job that doesn't please you, and so you want to replace an income? Or, are you like me? You want to go far beyond just replacing an income? Maybe you want a home at the beach, a fancy car, travel all around the world, etc?

I know those are goals of mine. But, how about yours?

Over the next few days, I want to share with you some habits that will Make you WEALTHY in your own Direct Sales/MLM Business.

If you owned a McDonald's, you would certainly be REQUIRED to have some good, consistent habits, right?

You would place a food order each week, so your store wouldn't run out.

You would advertise.

You would have a phone line that is separate from the one that has your kids voices on the answering machine.

You'd have a separate business checking account.

You'd show up for work everyday and wouldn't even dream of quitting or giving up until you had earned back your investment, right?

Well, like a McDonald's, we have some requirements for success, too. The difference is that no one can impose these on you but YOU.

Here are the Habits that will make you wealthy in MLM

First, I start with the Midnight Habit, because it is so important to your success. Here it is -

"The Midnight Habit - Every Day at midnight, I choose to let go of the events of this day and look forward to a brighter and better tomorrow."

Empowering, isn't it? So, make this a habit you practice regularly and enjoy more from your life!

Here in the San Bernardino Mountains, we have received over 2 feet of snow in the last few days. The weather took it's ultimate toll for us when one of the snow plows hit an electrical box right up the street, taking out our power at about 2:45 yesterday afternoon.

It's currently still out, and estimated to be back soon.

That's when you learn the benefit of a candle business. Although we have a generator that will power the whole house, it's fun to live by candlelight at times!

My neighbor stopped by and commented on how we surely have the best smelling house without power on the block. It looks cozy and it smells great.

We also have some great team stories by those in the southeast and midwest who have sold candles in the aftermath of hurricane and tornado electrical outages.

That's when something that is fun and creates a nice mood can also be your best friend!

Another one of the many benefits of your own candle business from home!

As you are considering getting started in your business, you may have some questions. One specific one might be - What type of system is in place to assist you in building your business?

Is this a party-plan type of program, where you will be expected to do home parties on a regular basis? Will this fit into your lifestyle? How often and how many parties monthly?

Are there many different ways to build the business and earn an income? Will you be forced into only one method?

Does your upline promote making a warm market list and calling all of those potential partners? Once you get someone interested, what tools are in place to assist you? Are there weekly meetings, conference calls, videos, online presentation from a web site, etc.? Are ad coops and qualified leads available to you? What are your potential upline leaders doing to assist you in growing your business?

Are you required to retail a certain amount of volume each month, or is it based more on personal consumption?

Does the group you will be working with provide a thorough training program?

The system you will use is important. You must be comfortable with what will be expected of you in terms of daily activities to grow your business. Make sure you are very clear on this before you sign on that dotted line.

It must fit your personality type and lifestyle. Or, you have to be committed to make some changes to adapt. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

One great thing about our company and having your own home business is that you have the flexibility to decide how you will work your business.

Do you like the thought of immediate income through retail?

Great, we offer that. You can do home or office parties; work with realtors on new home buyer gifts and open house products to spruce things up; gift baskets; corporate giving; even book parties!

Or, maybe the thought of building and coaching a team appeals to you. That is something that can be very rewarding from a personal satisfaction perspective as well as earning a great income. This is the area I focus most on.

Let me know what appeals most to you and let's discuss how to make it happen!

You've learned how trends and timing make a difference in your choice of business; and you've learned that these are key components when you evaluate a business.

I mentioned that I have worked from home since January, 1994, and based on these components, I have never lost money. Today, I am a six figure income earner and I have a passion about coaching others (maybe you) to success in a home business, too.

When I chose my company, I used those 4 key principles mentioned earlier and here is how my business fits into that -

  • Huge, expanding market - we have a product already used in 80% of homes. Chances are, you have this product (candles) in your home already and surely many of your friends and family do as well. It is already a $2+ billion industry and growing.

  • Unique, consumable product - this is a product that is used and re-purchased or re-ordered regularly. It is highly consumable and unique because it is a new, improved version of a product that has been in existence for centuries. It has a low unit cost and is purchased in good economic times and bad.

  • Timing, and trends in timing - this product is a "green" product. It is a "feel good" product and the country is making a huge shift toward this type of product. It is a product purchased at all economic levels and by both women and men.

  • Time leverage, through employees or business associates - our business model uses network marketing, so you are paid on your efforts and have the ability to build and coach a team, where everyone benefits by working together. What if you put in 10 hours each week and had 100 others on your team doing the same? That would be 1000 hours worked each week on your behalf. Would that interest you?

Think about some of the other products that are out there. Are these on the beginning of a trend or at the tail end?

Here are some things people are tired of in MLM, Network Marketing and Internet Marketing -

  • Juice and Vitamin Programs - they are everywhere and way too many "me, too" products out there

  • $150-250 monthly auto-ship for products to be involved in the business

  • Way too much inventory coming in with no ability to retail it.

  • "Downline Builder System" promising the moon and delivering nothing but debt.

  • Too much hype created by fear of loss.

So, why would Warren Buffett buy a Direct Sales/Network Marketing business? Why would he say "it's the best investment I've ever made?" Because it's a business model that works, and can work for you if you will work it. And, I will be here to coach and train you all of the way.

EXPECT Success!

Sometimes people wonder ahead of time "What will I actually be doing to build a successful candle business from my home?" I know I wondered that!

Here are some guidelines to get your business launched -

Setting Up Your Candle Business Plan

Success in Network Marketing is simply about one thing - having people to introduce your business and products to. The way to go about this will vary based on your interests and your willingness to take action steps. Keep in mind that you must decide and commit to the action steps that you are going to take to make this happen. There is warm market and people who you know; approach market, people you meet while out and about; networking business groups; advertising; lead coops. Where do you see yourself focusing?

There is no right or wrong answer to that question and please note that as your sponsor, I will be working with you to train and coach you in whatever areas you choose.

Here are some ways to find team members. You'll find details on using each method and testimonials by other team members at our exclusive team training site available to you once you get signed up.

Top Ten List - who are the top ten people you can think of who will review what you are doing and provide feedback and referrals?

Warm Market List - Go through the Recruiting 101 Guide for ideas on how to contact and notify your warm market. This is an important first step that I encourage you not to miss.

Schedule a B.O.S.S. in-home - Training and Details available.

Buy Leads - We have a candle specific lead coop. These are people who have specifically requested to be contacted about a candle business.

Run Ads - We have coaching on how to run effective ads.

Lifestyling While Out and About - How many people do you run into each day? You might be walking past a gold mine. Learn how to be effective in this area.

Online Networking - There are many ways to do this. I have a complete training program on effectively marketing your business online. This includes -

Developing your personal website.

Run ads on websites or in newsletters.

Write Articles.

Get involved in online forums.

Write a BLOG.

Build a Squidoo Lens.

Get involved in Social Networking such as MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and more.

Write a newsletter.

Create a Video about Network Marketing.

The key is to decide how much time you have each week; block that time in your calendar; determine your monthly budget and where you will invest it; commit to 20 minutes of personal development time each day (this is a very important step.) There are many ways to actually work your business, and the key is for you to make that commitment to do it!

My available time each week is ________

I have blocked that time in my calendar ________

My monthly marketing budget is  ________

I will invest that budget  _________________________________

I will commit to 20 minutes of personal development daily  ________

My reason for doing this business is  ________________________________

Use the Weekly Action Plan and Tracking Sheet, available to you once you are signed up for maximum accountability and tracking.

1) MAKE A LIST of your warm market . and TEACH the steps to your new members to do so. Some will, some won't. That's out of your control, but always begin with asking your new partners to make their list.

2) Use the APPROACH MARKET and lifestyling.

3) Have a lead source FROM an advertising campaign - that's all a Custom Lead Source is --- Buying a MINUMUM of 10 leads each and every month is the goal you need to shoot for and as your business and income grows, reinvest your profits to 40 leads. You need to have your business getting constant exposure.

Steps ------

1) Initial Call, Email, Mail Information Packet

2) 7 - 10 days later; Packet Follow-up Call, Invite to a Presentation, Email

3) 2 - 5 days (within 2 days of viewing the Presentation); Presentation Follow-up Call

What you are shooting for is MULTIPLE EXPOSURE over a short period of time but in the process you are building a relationship . so the idea is to NOT rush the process. More details and coaching is available once you join the team.

I look forward to welcoming you aboard and getting you started!

Did you watch the movie? I hope so and I hope you enjoyed how a former Navy Bomb Squad Diver and a Harvard Educated University Professor explain the concepts of Business, Trends, Timing and what YOU need to know to make some decisions for your future.

Let's quickly talk about those trends...

Remember the 4 big principles?

  • Huge, expanding market
  • Unique, Consumable Product
  • Timing, and specifically trends in timing
  • Leverage your time through others, either employees or business partners

Whatever business you decide to pursue, you want to make sure there is a market for your product or service. You want to be sure that the product or service is consumable, otherwise you are out of a job after you make a sale. Understand that you want to be at the beginning of a trend and not the end. And, working with other people leverages your time and income.

John D. Rockefeller has a famous saying - "I would rather get paid 1% on the efforts of 100 men than 100% of my own efforts."

That is leverage, both time and income.

Here are four current trends you may want to be aware of and that we will focus on -

  • Healthier Living
  • Environmental Issues
  • Security and Financial Issues
  • Retirement

You can pick up any paper today and read about all 4 of these trends and issues. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that we need to make some changes in how we live to live longer and live healthier.

You don't have to be a "tree hugger" to know that our environment, including that of our homes, could use some changes, even small changes.

The economy is sluggish and job layoffs; downsizing; companies closing their doors and paycuts are filling the news.

Who isn't worried about having enough money to retire and not becoming a Wal-Mart greeter instead of vacationing the world?

So, wouldn't it be worth your time to invest in a business that solves all 4 of these issues and takes advantage of the trends associated with each?

As you go through the information on the rest of this site, imagine the possibilities open to you by being at the right place, at the right time!

In March of 2003, I jumped on board with this small, start up company. It literally changed my life. Let's work together to change yours, too!

Does this describe you?

  • Looking for a fun, profitable, affordable business that you can run from home?
  • Skeptical of the scams and "too good to be true" scenarios you have seen online?
  • Looking for someone solid, trustworthy and reliable who will coach you to success?

Congratulations! You are in the right place. My goal in the next few minutes is to educate you on how to evaluate a business opportunity. Think about it - if you don't know what to look for or how to truly evaluate what might work, how can you possibly have faith that you can be successful?

While you are here, you will learn about the business model that financial and business experts Donald Trump, Warren Buffett and Robert Kiyosaki have endorsed as the perfect business model for the serious home business entrepreneur.

Here are a few things to focus on as you continue in your business research...

"You MUST be at the beginning of a trend to be a money maker, instead of a money loser!  And, there are 4 principles of business you MUST have."

As a 15 year veteran of working from home, I have been involved in several other companies and explored the possibilities with dozens of other businesses.

I researched the trends, found the 4 key principles that are essential for any successful business venture, and here is what I learned -

  • Huge expanding market

  • Unique, consumable product

  • Timing - trends in timing

  • Employ others so you get more done

So, with that, your next step is to learn how to evaluate this or any business. To do so, please take 20 minutes to view Brilliant Compensation. This video contains all of the criteria I used in January, 1994, when I began my home business journey.

That information and making the right business decision has allowed me to become a Six Figure Annual Income Earner all from the comfort of my home. Would you like to earn that, or even more?

If you haven't already, watch Brilliant Compensation >>>>>>>>

It will open in a new window and when it is finished, you can click to continue or come back here. It will ask for your name and email address, and that only comes to me. Don't worry, I promise not to harass you or sell your information.

Think about how a candle business fits those 4 key principles above. Tomorrow, more details on that!

Today, the mountains in Southern California, and specifically my home in Lake Arrowhead are blanketed in the one of the most beautiful snows I have ever seen.

We have a snow day, so no school! The kids are thrilled. And, so am I. As they grow older, I appreciate more and more the finite amount of time I have left with them.

I'm recovering from a fast moving "bug" that stole my voice and left my throat feeling raw and scratchy. So, I am especially happy that I didn't have to call in sick to a boss today. Instead, I am able to hang out in my snuggly clothes, by the fire, and work on my laptop, and return a few calls.

Already this morning, I have spoken with 3 women who are serious about starting a business and taking control of their own futures, and these are each of their concerns -

  • Worried about retirement. She's out on disability and is not sure if she'll ever be able to go back. Money is tight and she's only in her late 40s and doesn't want to live under those circumstances forever.
  • Concerned she is not currently with the right Network Marketing company. Her monthly autoship is close the $300 and with today's economy, she can't find people willing to commit that much to getting products without the ability to retail them, or use them up before next month's shipment.
  • Has been scammed with over $1800 being removed from her checking account by a company/person she trusted online.

There are people out there looking for a way to take back their own lives. Does this describe you? If so, I would love to show you how to change your life, "one candle at a time."

There are certainly MANY industry groups who are suffering from what is going on in the US economy. This is a great time to present your business to those who are looking for some income relief.

I was out and about this weekend at the beach and spent some time chatting with servers and bartenders. It certainly didn't seem like there was an economic crunch as the restaurants and bars were packed, with long wait times.

In speaking with those who work there, what they told me is that there hasn't been a real slowdown in traffic, but what has slowed down are the tips.

People are being much more conservative in what they offer in tips. Many of those I spoke with stated that their average tips are down about 25%.

Yikes, most people cannot afford a 25% pay cut. Can you?

So, keep this in mind as you are out and about and be sure to leave your card with these people, along with a decent tip!

They are still working hard. And, some will be motivated to pursue their own business!

It can be as simple as asking them if they burn candles; and then when they say yes, (most do) ask them if anyone else they know burn candles, too. And, when they say yes (most do) ask them quite simply if they would be interested in replacing that 25% pay loss with a business that could bring in that and a lot more, and wouldn't take away from what they are currently doing.

Get their name and phone number, and the best time to teach them, then hand then your card as well. Be sure to follow up! Practice doing this just a few times a week. You are sure to make some candle sales AND sponsor some new people into your business!

One of the most best things for me with my Candle Business has been the amount of fun I have had building it. Think about the simplicity of this business!

Let's start with having fun with the products - what's not fun about a great product that creates a great smelling and mood enhancing environment? Introducing these products to my family and friends is rewarding. I am not a trained salesperson, and I don't need to be. When something is great, you want to share it with others, right? I use the products myself; give them away as gifs and watch the re-orders come in!

I have had fun helping out organizations with raising much needed cash to fund the many great causes they support. With our current economic situation nationwide, think about how many organizations need your help and these products to raise money!

More than anything, though, I have enjoyed building a team of other like-minded women and men who want to take control of their lives, and realize that the only way to truly do this is through a business of their own. We have laughed together, grown together and made money together. We have traveled to events; sailed on the high seas; danced to the wee hours of the morning and solidified our commitment to setting a high standard for our business.

Where do you see yourself fitting into our business? What first action steps would you like to take? I would love to hear all about it and support you in that journey.

If you are like millions of Americans and others across the globe,
you may be looking at your yearend savings and investment
statements and feeling a pit in your stomach. The paper losses are
huge, and escalating.

So, what can you do? What will you do? Are you ready to take
control and not let someone else wave a wand over your destiny? You
don't have to be frightened about what lies ahead. I'm not!

A business of your own, and specifically a business with a product
with strong market appeal and a solid retail profit for you can
make all of the difference.

You can actually retail our products and put cash in your pocket
while you add people to your team who are interested in a business
also, which generates another income stream for you, paid by our
company.

And the best part is, it is really VERY simple. If you have seen
complicated businesses before, you are going to love this.

When I got started in my own candle business, one of the things I
committed to was making sure that my friends, neighbors, family and
business associates knew about my business and my products. One way
I did this was to give my candles away as gifts whenever possible.
(Hey, it's a tax write off and actually has LOWERED my tax bill.)

I attended a party at a friend's home and brought her a Fresh Linen
Candle. It smells amazing, like laundry in the sun on a spring day.
I didn't mention my business or ask if she was interested, but my
label was on the bottom of the jar, and she knew it was from my
candle line.

A few months later, she emailed me and wrote - "I love your
candles. You wouldn't be interested in putting together gift bags
for 40 employees for our office holiday party, would you?"

Wouldn't I? I wasted no time in picking up the phone and saying
"heck yeah! Done deal!"

That was over 3 years ago, and I have been providing her gift bags
each year since.

My investment was $9.50, since that was my cost on the jar candle I
gifted her. That led to a huge profit for me each year, right
during the holidays and she spends over $1200 with me to do this.

What's holding you back from getting started working with me? I
would love to brainstorm ideas with you about how to get your
business started; put some retail profits in your pocket right
away; and how to grow a successful, long term business that will
ease any worries you may have about the economy.
